Movie Review: Argo

I still can't believe this is a true story.
WOW.

Rating: R
Time: 120 min
Stars: Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston

A true story.
I already said it, I already saw it but it is still amazing.
Anyways this is Ben Afflecks third movie that he directed.
I didn't see The Town or Gone Baby Gone but I've heard that anyone who has actually seen these movies have loved them.
Everyone says Ben Affleck is a growing director and that he could be one of our best.
Anyways to that I would say he makes a good movie but is he better then Tim Burton or Christopher Nolan?
No.
Anyways that plot in this movie is that Iran took over a building blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and six people got out.
Their hiding out in the Canadian Ambassadors house and these Iranians are going door to door.
The CIA need them out but all their plans lead to someone being killed.
So Ben Affleck has the idea to make a fake movie who are scouting for a place to shoot.
He goes to Iran gets them and leaves with them, with them disguised as his film crew.
Hopefully.
And the biggest surprise about his movie is that it really happened!!!
Anyways let me talk about what went right in this movie.
This movie never gets boring.
Even though there might be some parts in this movie that might be boring in other movies well they're not.
This movie can make 8 people sitting in room entertaining.
If it's not intense there's a joke.
That's another two things in this movie.
This movie had some jokes in it!
When they're creating Argo in the movie with Ben Affleck, John Goodman and Alan Arkin those scenes are funny!
Some jokes mad me laugh out loud!
And also my other point in this movie is that this movie is really intense.
It can prove that a movie can be really nail-biting without any guns, killing or violence.
The acting in this movie was amazing!
It seemed like everyone was giving it their all!
Ben Affleck can have really 9.0bad acting experiences and really good ones.
Fortunately this one was good.
And Bryan Cranston.
He seemed realistic and he was entertaining to watch.
John Goodman in this movie, whenever he was on screen he made me feel good!
You always need a feel good character in a non-feel good movie.
And Alan Arkin, whenever this guy was on screen he made me crack up.
His character and personality in this movie was really good.
There probably couldn't be a better person to play his character then him.
And also this movie was really realistic.
In some movies based on a true story they make the characters cheesy and the premise cheesy.
This one sticks to the real really well.
And even though this movie is 2 hours and it seems like 2 hours it is so good that you don't want it to end!
Now the bad stuff.
This movie can get really complicated and confusing for a minute.
They use really long complicated words that some people may not know.
I mean you will know them but they also talk fast in this movie.
But after one minute you understand and you're back on track.
And also in this movie that language that they speak in Iran is really confusing.
It takes you off course and then it leaves you thinking for 5 minutes.
Sometimes in the movie you have to understand what's happening by the actions because there are no captions.
And while that is happening you seem to be focused on the words and it gets you all scrambled up.
But in overall this movie was really well done and exciting.
It's a movie you should see in theaters, and will definitely be worth the time and the cash.
Score=9.0

  1. Hi Max, I saw this movie last weekend and loved it also (we have similar tastes). Our Town is also great. I agree that Ben Afflect seems to be a rising director.

    Happy Halloween!
    Love you,
