Movie Review: Gravity

OH NO, I'M STUCK IN SPACE!!
HOW WILL I ESCAPE?
WILL I DIE??
SOMEONE, HELP, SOMEONE, PLEASE SAVE ME!!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 91 min
Director: Alfonso Cauron
Stars: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney

The truth about this movie is that I've saw it a really long time ago.
I actually don't think it's in any theaters anymore.
Anyway, the reason I still wanted to review it fully instead of a short summary was because I feel like it was really good and that I should explain it to people in more detail.
That and also because it's been appearing on many people's top 10 lists and I want it to be included in mine.
Anyway to get straight to the review...
So the plot in this movie is that George Clooney and Sandra Bullock go up into space to do some boring thing that no one really cares about.
Anyway something goes wrong and soon enough they're stranded out there with limited oxygen and no way to get back down to Earth.
So what was good?
This movie was amazing.
I know I have to explain why and the different reasons to bring me to that choice, but the truth is, this movie's amazing.
So, here's why...
First off, this movies special effects were amazing!
They were so vivid and detailed that made me feel like I was right in the moment.
The movie's totally going to be nominated for its effects.
The acting from Sandra Bullock and George Clooney is also amazing.
A lot of movies have great special effects but with it not great acting.
This movie supplied both of the things and made the experience only more live for me.
The truth is, Alfonso Cuaron directed this movie brilliantly.
The effects, the acting and the feel of the movie.
That reminds me of another point, the soundtrack and score for this movie is crazy good and genius at the same time.
There is no sound while watching this movie.
Whenever there's something huge and explosive, all you hear is other people eating popcorn and biting their nails.
The movie is also super suspenseful and the plot takes turns and moves that are awesome and unexpected.
It's also a short movie which is a bonus because no one really likes to sit in a movie theater for that long.
So what wasn't so good?
Truthfully I can't think of any reason why this movie was bad.
This movie was actually amazing!
So all in all, this movie was amazing at it will definitely be making an appearence on my top 10 list I'll do in a week or two or so.
Score=9.0

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
This movies plot was crazy and stupid and really childish.
The movie was colorful and intriguing but the results were just horrible.
The first movie was much better because this one was just outrageous.
The movie was executed badly but it was sort of entertaining in a cute way.
Score=5.5

Movie 43
The movie was barely entertaining.
It was offensive, disgusting, and not funny.
The movie's shorts were barely watchable and I was almost forced to walk away.
Somehow I didn't and now I regret my choice for this movie has just stolen 2 hours of my precious life.
Score=2.5

Movie Review: American Hustle

I have been waiting for this movie.
Ever since I saw Silver Linings Playbook and eventually The Fighter I have decided that I do love David O. Russell.
But did this movie hit the bullseye the way the others did?
Read on and find out.

Rating: R
Time: 138 min
Director David O. Russell
Stars: Christian Bale, Amy Adams

Only do I sometimes start off my reviews with a read on phrase.
I'm not sure if I like it much, but I use it when nothing else comes in my mind to say.
Anyway, just before we start the review, I just want to say that I have unfortunate luck sitting next to people.
Always in movie I sit next to the loud weirdo and this movie was no different.
I sat next to a man with a cackling laugh which he used at every small pun in the movie and sometimes even when there's none.
Why me, why me!?!?
So the plot in this movie is that there are these con men who are forced to work for the police to hustle and con other people.
So what was good?
First off, the acting in this movie is amazing.
Everyone did an amazing job but truthfully the one who stood out was Jennifer Lawrence.
Jennifer Lawrence I am constantly surprised by.
I love her and I think that her Oscar that she won she deserved, but that doesn't really show me that she can do other dramatic parts.
Once again, she proved me wrong.
She was the best part of the movie with her amazing acting, her lively character and her comedic dialogue.
Also I thought that the plot for this movie was really interesting.
I was really engaged into it and interested in what was going to happen next.
I thought that the setting was also interesting.
Actually, personally I just love movies with this old but not so old type of setting.
The setting with gangsters and con men and all of that.
Also the humor in this movie surprised me a lot as well.
I laughed a lot more than I thought and I liked that.
Going into the movie I actually thought it was just going to be a drama.
Maybe the only reason I laughed was because the guy sitting next to me had this ginormous annoying laugh and was using it at every joke, sometimes even when there wasn't one.
Also there was this secret cameo in the movie that I was surprised by and loved.
The secret actor that actually might not be that secret was awesome to see.
So what wasn't so good?
The movie, to me, had some moments where it slowed down and lagged.
The movie has a great plot so I sort of expected a faster paced movie.
That made the movie a little boring in some moments and less entertaining.
The truth of the matter is is that this movie was really good and I can't think of any other reason why it would be bad.
I don't know why others think it's not that great.
If only the pacing could be a little faster.
All in all, the movie was a really good one with great acting and other great things.
It may not win best picture but it's a good movie to see.
Score=7.5

Don Jon
I was super excited for this movie!
I am a fan of JGL and I couldn't wait to see what he was going to direct.
Instead I was disappointed for the movie was disturbing and not funny.
The acting was mediocre and the turns of the movie lost my interest.
It was boring and painful to watch.
Score=4.5

The To Do List
This movie was also quite disturbing but at least it embraced itself.
It was exactly what I expected and wanted from the movie.
Some jokes fell flat but others made me laugh out loud.
If you're bored or sad, definitely rent this movie.
Score=7.0

Movie Review: Anchorman 2

They're back once again to make me laugh and read me the news.
You don't know how long I have been anticipating this movie.
I could not wait, and now that wait is over.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 119 min
Director: Adam McKay
Stars: Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd

The movie I have been waiting forever for and now I have officially seen it.
So the plot in this movie is that Will Ferrell and the crew are back once again to head out to New York and once again, read the news.
It's also about the origin of the different types of news stories.
So what was good?
First off, as I expected, this movie was super funny.
I was laughing my head off to almost all the jokes and only some rare few fell flat.
It was great to see the characters and the crew back in action once again and that also just made the experience better for me.
Also, I think that Steve Carells character was used much better in this movie because the writers found out how much we loved him.
He had a much better personal story with Kristen Wiig and just had more moments to shine which he in fact, did.
The secret cameos to this movie were also very exciting and funny.
I knew almost everyone with a secret cameo and it was so fun and cool to see them especially when I wasn't expecting it.
I could say that the acting was good, but the movie was made for fun so if I did, than it would just be strange to.
I thought that even though this movie is made to make you laugh, it had way more heart than the first one and that was great.
Paul Rudd and David Koechner were also super awesome and it was really fun to see them once again.
So what wasn't so good?
First off, to get straight to it, I thought that Kristen Wiigs character wasn't so fun.
I thought that Brick was really funny but that she unfortunately just fell flat.
She didn't make me laugh or even chuckle which is a shame because I really did like her when she used to be on SNL.
I thought that the ending of this movie also wasn't done well.
I think that because I thought it ended very suddenly and left me with some questions.
I think that at least it should've done a moment after the movie where they say in words what happens next to the characters or an extra added scene at the end of the credits.
Christina Applegate was fine in the movie but I never really liked her role in the first one and my mind didn't change for this one.
All in all, the movie was funny and entertaining, but unless you need some cheering up, there's no problem skipping it.
Score=7.0

The Family
A dark comedy staring Robert De Niro and it is executed well.
It's sure of itself and nothing else and supplies what it needs to supply.
It has a perfect mixture of comedy and dark and adds a little extra action for you as well.
Entertaining and great movie to rent and watch at home.
Score=7.5

Red 2
This movie was insanely action filled which made it so fun to watch.
It had it's moments with comedy and some were done well.
The pacing could've sped up though and the score didn't help much.
Doesn't matter if you skip it but if you are truly bored than maybe you should rent this.
Score=6.5

Movie Review: Frozen

One of the if not the last animation movie of the year.
Wreck-It-Ralph was great, this will be too, right?

Rating: PG
Time: 102 min
Director: Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee
Stars: Kristen Bell, Josh Gad

I know that at the beginning of every review that I rabble about some nonsense but since I have a lot of reviews to do, I have no time to do so.
Instead I will get straight to the review.
BTW, just before we start, I was sitting next to girl who had fallen asleep and started snoring like crazy.
So the plot in the movie is that there is this princess who's sister has froze the entire village so she goes to find her to hope to find the cure of the eternal snow.
So what was good in this movie?
Personally this movie I have to admit out of all the animations of the year is one of the best.
The color and setting of the atmosphere and situation was much more surprisingly vivid than I had thought.
It's really hard to do that, especially when the atmosphere is covered in white snow.
The characters all had personality and this unique attribute to them that made me as the viewer connect more.
I was intrigued by the turns and twists of the story.
This is actually what surprised me most though, this movie had twists that I would have never expected from a kids movie like this.
The songs were sort of good even though I am not the biggest fan of musicals.
The humor in this movie was also very well done.
The main comedic character of the movie which is a talking snowman I thought really contributed to the movie as a whole making it more appealing to me and others.
Even though some of his jokes were somewhat childish, I think that really everyone can understand and laugh at them.
I truly thought after seeing the trailer that he was not going to be that great, but I was ultimately proved wrong when he started singing about what he was going to do when the summer came.
So what wasn't so good?
First off, when coming into this movie I wasn't actually aware that it would be a musical.
Turns out it was and that caught me off-guard.
I personally don't like musical movies so I wasn't so pleased when I had to sit through all of their numbers.
Also, I now see that I am getting older and am less appealed to these type of animation kid movies.
The movie did not grasp my attention which I understand because I do not think the movie was intended for me.
That and also because I was sitting next to a little girl who fell asleep and started snoring.
The movie only did not get the higher grade it could because I was distracted and am starting to realize my age unfortunately.
But this will not mean I don't enjoy them at all.
I still do, just a little less.
Score=7.0

The Spectacular Now
This movie was a nice love story which was interesting but not special.
I'm not saying it was bad but there was just nothing new to the eye and nothing really unique about the movie.
The acting was fine but who really cares if you missed it.
Score=6.5

Turbo
Fun snail movie that was much better than I had expected.
I'm actually surprised that people didn't like this movie that much.
I thought it was interesting and entertaining.

Movie Review: Dallas Buyers Club

Matthew McConaughey is a drug dealer in this movie.
He deals drugs that are not approved but actually help people be cured of AIDS.
So he's the good type of drug dealer.
Interesting...

Rating: R
Time: 117 min
Director: Jean-Marc Vallée
Stars: Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner

OH NO, IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!
Once again to my readers, I'm sorry that I have not posted something in a really long time and I'm sorry to have kept you waiting.
I understand that I need to get on top of it, now more than ever.
The end of the year is coming and if I don't review all of the movies I've seen in time than my 2013 best and worst list can't and won't be complete.
But if it does ever come to that... I will just have to use the ones I have already reviewed and not the ones I haven't.
The worst part of that though is that it's Oscar Season.
I HAVE TO REVIEW MORE!!!
Anyway since I have way more to review, these reviews will be a little shorter.
So the plot in this movie is that Matthew McConaughey is diagnosed with AIDS.
The hospital gives him medicine but it doesn't help so he goes places around the world to get not approved, but better medication.
Eventually he decides he want's to help others and gain a little cash so he buys a lot and starts selling it to other people.
This is the true story of the Dallas Buyers Club.
 So what was good?
The acting was phenomenal!!
Matthew McConaughey performed so well!
It was probably one of the best performances I've seen in a while.
Also, Jared Leto was amazing!
His character was portrayed so well and his character was undeniably the best one in the whole movie.
Now I could say Jennifer Garner did great too, but then I'd just be lying.
Truthfully, Jennifer Garner had one good moment, nothing more.
Also the story was incredible and really interesting.
The way things played out was really cool and I liked how the director decided to show things these ways that were really interesting.
So what wasn't that good?
First off, as I said before, Jennifer Garner is never good in movies.
Her characters aren't good, the way she portrays them aren't good and her acting is just not good.
Whenever I see her on screen I just want shoot her in the head because she's that annoying.
Also the soundtrack for this film I thought was not that great.
The music wasn't always the best and the sounds were terrible which made it obvious to the viewer that they were not natural but edited in.
Also, the movie did get pretty slow at times.
This was the first time in a long time where I looked at my phone to see how much was longer.
The movie wasn't predictable and the ending was done well but the middle parts and the conversations were just not paced fast enough for me to get into the groove.
It got me here but lost me there, and it went on like that for a while.
So all in all the movie was pretty slow for a child but I'd recommend this for more artistic adults who have a little more patience than me.
Score=7.0

Kick Ass 2
This movie was funny and action filled!
Sure it's ridiculous but super entertaining.
The story is also very stupid but all equals up to a really fun time.
Score=7.5

Grown Ups 2
This movie has no plot and is incredibly stupid.
There are barely any chuckles and it's basically just a horrible movie.
Adam Sandler has just gotten terrible.
Why can't he just make movies like he used to like Big Daddy and Happy Gilmore.
Score=4.0

Movie Review: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

So I hated the first book.
I hated the first movie.
I might as of well think going into this movie that it would also suck.
So you know I did.
Turns out that it was...
READ MORE TO FIND OUT!!!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 146 min
Stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson
Director: Francis Lawrence

So I did it again.
I haven't been posting in a really long time again.
I really do suck though.
Anyway since I have way too many movies to review, and I also promised to review movies that came out in July that I missed I will in each review, do 3.
Sure the second 2 at the end won't even really be reviews but just short opinions.
So the plot in this movie is that now ever since the 74th Hunger Games, people are starting to rebel against the capital.
So to get rid of their influence (Katniss Everdeen) the president makes a 75th special Hunger Games where 24 of the previous winners will once again try to kill each other.
So what was good?
First off this one was so much better than the first movie.
The acting was much better.
I actually felt like people were trying, probably because they finally realized that Twilight was not good so they stopped trying to be like it.
The new characters I thought were also much better.
They were so much more interesting and much better developed.
The plot was also much much better.
It actually had a purpose and much more meaning than the last one where it was just pointless killing of kids.
The special effects were amazing and added even more to the story.
The truth is that this movie was so cool!
It looked awesome and it made me feel awesome probably because it was a good movie.
Also there's a character in this movie named Finnick.
When I first met him I thought he would be a terrible character that would be annoying and ruin the movie.
He turned out to be my favorite character!
He had a great personality and even though I thought he would do this he didn't and that made me happy.
So what wasn't good.
First off I thought that some characters weren't used to their greatest extent.
Also sometimes it got way too over dramatic.
It felt fake to me and weak as well.
But other than that the movie was good.
So all in all definitely better than the first and actually a good movie in general.
Score=8.0

Blue Jasmine
The acting was amazing.
The story and growth of the character was great.
Even though I hated the previous Woody Allen movie I saw this movie made up for it.
The characters were great and very realistic and entertaining.
Score=8.0

The Heat
There was so much potential in this movie but it unfortunately fell flat.
It only supplied me with a couple of laughs.
The chemistry was good but the story not so much.
I really wished that it would've been better but it just wasn't.
Score=6.0

Movie Review: Ender's Game

I suck.
I have not reviewed in a very long time.
After this review, I have 10 maybe 11 more reviews to do.
I probably won't have the memory/time to do them all but I will try.
I suck.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 114 min
Director: Gavin Hood
Stars: Harrison Ford, Asa Butterfield

I suck.
I wasn't telling a lie up there.
I was telling the truth.
Anyway, if you're wondering what the other 10 movies are (not including this one), I will tell it to you now.

1. Blue Jasmine
2. Kick Ass 2
3. The Spectacular Now
4. The Family
5. Don Jon
6. Gravity
7. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
8. Captain Phillips
9. Bad Grandpa
10. Free Birds

Yeah, I know I suck.
But anyway, to get back on topic, I loved Ender's Game.
What I mean by that is the book.
During the summer I read the book and to me, I considered it one of the best books I have ever read ever.
I really wanted to see the movie, so during the trailers I wasn't sure if it was going to live up to my expectations.
If you want to find out if it did, read on.
I know everyone's complaining about the author and how's very against gays and that, I find that matter to have nothing to do with the movie.
Who cares really?
Anyway, since it's been such a long time since my last review, I might be a little more amateur. (AKA. Bad)
So enjoy this next review and I hope it fills that sad hole in your heart where old ones used to be.
So the plot is, is that Earth 50 years ago we went to war with aliens.
We want to finish off the aliens to secure the Earths safety forever and ever.
To do that we train kids to fight this war.
One of those kids is Ender.
That is the plot.
So what was good?
I'm a little rusty so let's see how this goes...
First off, I loved the book (as I mentioned before) and to me, this movie lived up to it.
The movie was well acted.
Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Asa Butterfield and pretty much everyone else!
They all did amazing jobs and to me, they added to the experience and fun of the movie.
Also the special effects in this movie is great.
It looks so real and so realistic!
I saw Terminator the other day and compared, this movie was incredible!
Even if I didn't compare the two, the effects would still be incredible.
The story was much better than most action/sci-fi movies.
It had a lot more meaning and heart and wasn't just a stupid senseless one of the Hero vs Villain.
Also the ending of this movie was executed perfectly!
When I read the book, the ending was one of the parts I was most worried of how it would be done, and the movie did it so well!
I think that it may have even done it better than the book.
IT WAS SO COOL!
Anyway, what wasn't so, cool...
First off, I was disappointed by some parts of the movie.
The book was placed over many years and it had a lot of things going on.
It would be kind of hard to put it all into only 2 hours.
So of course they're going to make some scenes shorter, but one scene they made seem too short.
When Ender is in Battle School, it takes place for many years in the book.
Actually, the majority of the book is in that school.
So when the movie makes it 30 minutes long, and makes it seem like the whole process was done in a single day, that made me mad and disappointed.
If only movies could be as long as it needed to be.
But then again, no one would see a 10 hour movie.
So all in all, this movie lived up to the expectation of it's book and impressed me wildly.
Score=8.5

Movie Review: The World's End

To end the Cornetto trilogy we need to end with a BAM.
The Worlds End was a BAM.
But is wasn't necessarily that great of a BAM.
I'm so disappointed...

Rating: R
Time: 109 min
Director: Edgar Wright
Stars: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost

To get straight to the point, I love the Cornetto trilogy.
I have loved every single one of them.
So when hearing that this movie was going to come out I knew I needed this movie.
This was probably the movie I wanted to see most the whole entire year.
A little crazy right?
Well anyways I don't have much more to say here so I'll get straight to the review.
So the plot in the movie is that Simon Pegg gathers his friends from high school and they all go back to their hometown to conquer the golden mile that they could never complete years back.
But in the mix of it, the town seems different and basically there's robots and they have complete the golden mile without dying and stuff like that.
So what was good in the movie?
First of all as I said before, I love this trilogy and I have loved every movie of theirs so this won't be any different.
Well getting back to the normal one of the things I liked was that the movie was highly entertaining.
The whole way through I was sucked in and I never got bored.
It's also really funny.
Well, only if you like that British type of humor.
And fortunately I do.
I thought that the jokes were unique and very new after seeing all those American comedies like We're the Millers and This is the End and also the other movies I rented on DVD that were in theaters years ago.
I thought that the characters were each very unique and special in their own way.
I thought they each played a different but grand role in the movie.
Also the acting was good.
It wasn't no Heath Ledger Joker but it was good for a movie that's obviously not trying to win any Oscar.
I thought that the plot was also very cool.
I like the idea of having these different pubs you need to go to as the main motivation for the characters and than all of this stuff happening in between.
And same with this movie that I liked with all movies are the shots that the movie takes.
The sound effects to those shots and the way it made me tingle in my seat was awesome.
They've done those shots in all of the three movies and I love them all.
Also at the end of the movie Simon Pegg has a very awesome monologue.
It was pretty much awesome.
So what wasn't so awesome though?
Well first of all I thought the ending of the movie was terrible.
Pretty much everything that happens after Simon Pegg's monologue was just terrible!
It's like they ran out of ideas and went with an ending that leaves a lot hanging and is just so STUPID!
I hated the ending with passion.
I also thought that this movie was nothing special.
I thought that it was going to have an awesome twist ending that relates to the other movies.
SPOILER ALERT!
It doesn't.
END.
I mean if I had just skip the movie entirely I wouldn't be missing out on much.
So to sum all of this up, the movie was a terrible ending to the Cornetto trilogy but a good movie in general.
And here is my order from worst to best of the Cornetto trilogy movies.
3. The World's End
2. Shaun of the Dead
1. Hot Fuzz
Not really a shocker right?
Score=6.5

Movie Review: Planes

FROM THE WORLD OF CARS COMES... PLANES!!!!!
Next thing you know a movie will come out that's called BOATS!
And than maybe after that, possibly another movie called TRAINS!
And all from the world of CARS!!

Rating: PG
Time: 91 min
Stars: Dane Cook, Stacy Keach
Director: Klay Hall

So when Cars came out I was much much younger.
Of course I went to see it and of course I loved it.
Than years later the sequel came out.
It was... TERRIBLE!
Yeah so when this movie came out I was not sure if it was worth my time.
But then I decided from the trailer that they were trying to go back to the original Cars type of movie so yeah, I was now really excited.
Unfortunately right when I got back the movie had just left the closest theater to my house.
I thought it was kind of a drag to go to a movie theater that was farther away and more expensive but eventually it happened.
But I will say I never planned it.
I asked my brother if he wanted to go to the movie theater to see a movie and it just happened that he wanted to see that one.
So it all worked out and we watched happily ever after.
So the plot in the movie is that planes have a race all around the world.
The main character is racing in it and it just happens that he's afraid of heights.
WOOP DI DOO!
And now we have our movie!
So what was good in this movie?
First of all the movie was really colorful.
All the colors were really powerful towards the screen.
Also the colors sucked me into the movie a little more.
And as I mentioned before the movie plot is that the planes have to race all around the world.
So the culture is also very cool.
I liked visiting all these places and paying attention to them.
All the cultures were different and it made the movie that much better.
The characters were also all very unique.
All of them had their own touch and style.
And even better they were all from different countries.
They all added to the movie a little more.
Even if they only had couple of lines.
All of these contributed to the movie being good but the thing that made this movie good was that it just made me feel good.
I don't think I have seen a movie that has truly made me feel good in a long time.
And this one did.
I went with my brother to see this movie and even though I'm having some problems with going back to school and that, this movie let me relax and just enjoy.
So what wasn't so great in this kids film.
First of all, the movie super predictable.
You know everything that's going to happen and you're always right!
It is also very cliche and maybe even cheesy.
The ending is one of those endings that happens in almost every children movie.
That's pretty much it but both of those things are pretty big factors of a movie.
So all in all, the movie is nothing new or special and I only recommend it to people if you are a kid or if you have a kid who really wants to see it.
Other than that, what's the point?
Score=6.5

Movie Review: Lee Daniels' The Butler

You know what I experienced from this movie.
Somebody else's perspective.
When I experienced Obama win the election in 2008 I was glad because he was the guy I wanted to win the whole time!
But seeing this movie, I realize, he was much more than the guy who I was glad won to many other people.
VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 132 min
Director: Lee Daniels
Stars: Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey

Personally now, I don't think anyone likes to serve people that are richer than you.
I don't even like two serve my brother.
So how can one man serve the whole White House with only a couple of other men and not just give up and basically say "I've had enough, I'm out"
Well first of all, this is a huge opportunity serving the White House.
You get to make friends with the presidents and they treat you well for a butler.
Second of all, they won't pay you much because back then African Americans didn't get payed that well, but at least they'll pay you more than most places. (I think.)
And third of all is because you get to listen into all their highly classified meetings.
And if they like you, they might ask you an opinion of what they're doing.
And if they like what you say then you might start something bigger than ever!!!
But probably not.
So the plot in the movie is that this man is a butler for the White House.
So it's pretty much about his life and how he was awesome.
So what was good in the movie?
The acting was phenomenal!
Everyone was amazing and really gave a great performance.
I felt like everyone was giving it their all.
To tell you the truth, so far this is probably the movie that would be nominated.
I don't know why it's showing in August because I believe that if this movie was showing in November/December it could actually get nominated.
But then again Beasts of the Southern Wild was nominated and that came out before The Butler.
Anyhow I also thought that the movie moved at a perfect pace not slowing down on anything or speeding up.
I also think that the movie wasn't boring at all.
It was a true story biography that wasn't boring.
But then again I can't tell you the last time I saw a boring terrible biography. (Jobs.)
The humor was great too.
I thought that they put just the right amount and didn't make the movie too serious or too silly.
It was the perfect combination for a movie like this.
Mostly serious but with a couple of chuckles in some places.
The story was also very fulfilling.
And the end of the movie I had about one last question.
But the question was simple and that was it.
I typed into Google and I got my answer.
So what wasn't so great in the film?
First of all I thought that some of the roles of the film sort of weird.
For example, I thought that the person who portrayed John F. Kennedy didn't seem like he was actually John F. Kennedy.
Also I thought the movie was sometimes confused with itself at moments.
It was a very long time to fit into 2 hours which made it seem a little weird and strange when big things happened.
It's like so much is happening in two hours that the movie doesn't really have time to relax and enjoy the moment it's in.
Right after one big thing happens, another big thing happens seconds after it.
It doesn't leave you time to think.
Anyhow other then that the movie was phenomenal and I really hope that it makes a nomination of some kind because it deserves it.

Movie Review: Jobs

Apple is a great company.
They give us awesome utilities for our daily lives.
I am at the moment writing this post on an apple computer.
This shows that Steve Jobs is better than Bill Gates.
But know seeing this movie I do have to admit that Steve Jobs is not the man you want to work for.
Anger issues...

Rating: PG-13
Time: 128 min
Director: Joshua Michael Stern
Stars: Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney

Apple is one of the best companies in the world.
It invented the Mac which has helped many many people, one of those people is me.
Whenever I go on a trip I thank Apple because they keep me preoccupied with music from one of their iPods.
And they also supported me with laughter and fun with one of their million apps on their iPad.
What a great company Steve Jobs founded.
I really don't know what I would do without it.
But than again in the past people didn't even think that they would ever have needed computers.
Look at us now.
Maybe in the future robots will be invented and we will say we can't live without them.
Yet now, I'm perfectly fine without having robots.
Interesting, huh?
So anyhow the movie is based on the start of the life of Steve Jobs and his legendary company.
So what was good in the movie?
To tell you the truth, not much.
I liked the part in the garage but after that the movie dropped for me.
Some characters I thought were cool and could've even made the movie better if they were put into it more.
But that's pretty much just it.
Sad right?
So what wasn't good?
First of all, the acting in the movie was just mediocre.
It wasn't so amazing and personally I love Ashton Kutcher but I just don't think he was a good Steve Jobs.
Second of all, the movie was super long for itself.
It was a really long song and much of the movie I thought could've been excluded because it was boring or just didn't serve any importance.
Also the movie was so limited!
This movie was basically about the early point of Apple.
They didn't show the iPhone, they didn't show the iPod or the iPad.
They didn't even show Steve Jobs dying!
The moments they did show were sort of interesting but when the movie ended I wanted to know more about now and like what happens to the company after Steve Jobs died.
And most of the movie was pretty boring I would have to say.
It was based on the part that I didn't care about.
I pretty much wished that they would've focused more time on the present (now) or the past which was when they were in a garage.
I liked that moment in the movie.
The movie also didn't make me feel anything.
If I had to sum the whole thing up it would probably be that the movie was mostly boring with barely any enjoyable parts.
IT MADE ME WANT MORE!!

Movie Review: Fruitvale Station

I hate the subway.
I live in NYC and I hate the subway.
This movie is pretty much based in a subway.
Well at least when the big, bad and important stuff is happening it's in a subway.
This does not make me feel better about the subway.
I hate the subway.
I live in NYC and I hate the subway.

Well ladies and gentleman, if any of you have been keeping track, this is my 100th movie review!!!
It's a pretty big post for me today and so far it has not been going well!
I saw this movie last Wednesday.
I never got to actually writing the review except for 2 days ago when I started to write it.
I was close to finishing it but I never actually wrote the whole thing.
Today I came back onto the computer to finish my review and it wasn't there!
I had to start from scratch!
But I guess that's sort of a good thing, because 2 days ago when I was writing this review I didn't even realize that it was my 100th.
Well now I know and I am proud of myself!
So as long as people keep on reading my reviews and enjoying them I will keep on writing them.
This is not the end of my saga.
Trust me that it's not.
I will keep on doing these for much longer until I just get tired of movies and never want to see one ever again.
Let's hope that's not the case.
So the plot in this movie is that this young guy is trying to get his life back in order after dealing with bad crowds and drugs and that stuff.
He has a girlfriend and a 6 year old daughter and it's his mothers birthday.
Anyhow, it's New Years Eve and he wants to go into the city to celebrate with some friends.
He takes the subway.
Bad stuff happens on the subway.
And now we have our film!
So what was good in the movie?
First of all the acting in the movie was great!
Michael Jordan did a phenomenal job and I think that this might be the start to a bigger career for him.
Octavia Spencer also did an amazing job to me.
I thought that she played the role of the mother so well.
I thought that the movie was never to proud of itself.
I thought that the director, Ryan Coogler, knew that this was his first movie and he wanted to make it a good movie but not so over dramatic. (Place Beyond the Pines.)
The writing was also really great.
The movie seemed realistic to me and it helped me connect more to it.
Also I thought that it was just the right length.
I thought that if it were any longer than it might have dragged or been much much more boring.
(I'm not saying it was boring though.)
The time line through out the story I thought was amazing.
I don't know if all of it was true, but if it was than that's just a shame.
A lot of stuff happens in this movie and I 'm not sure why it was in there, but since it's a true story for all I know I guess I can see al little why things are put in there.
So what wasn't so great?
I thought that the movie was as spectacular as the reviews it has been getting.
I thought the execution of the big thing that happens in this movie was just OK.
Crazy things are going on and it's hard to see what's happening.
Also I just think that the acting dropped in that moment.
Also the movie left a lot of questions for me.
For example why the whole thing happened in the first place.
My biggest question though was why a fight broke out.
I didn't understand it.
Sort of SPOILER ALERT.
And some people got away from the police which makes me wonder how the movie knew that they were involved at all.
This also happened in Bling Ring when the sister was involved yet never got caught.
If she never got caught than how did the movie know she was involved.
END OF SORT OF SPOILER.
So all in all, the movie was a pretty great directorial debut but I think that that is the only reason it's getting amazing reviews.
If someone much more famous directed it it would've been a good movie and not a great one.
But it's still a pretty great movie to see for your 100th movie review.
I won't stop reviewing.

Movie Review: We're the Millers

So the plan is to make a fake family and travel across the Mexican border get some drugs and bring them back to the states.
Full proof right?

Rating: R
Time: 110 min
Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber
Stars: Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis

I always have trouble writing the beginning of my blog posts.
If there's not a fun story about before I saw the movie than I have trouble finding out what I want to write.
Like for this movie, it was a rainy day and this seemed like the best movie with a reasonable time.
There's no fun story.
The truth is that I only make the beginning of these reviews to make the review longer.
If the review is longer than I felt like I have succeeded more.
It makes me feel more sophisticated!
So instead of writing something really long I will end my beginning nonsense here and see how long my real review is.
Even the beginning remark is shorter than usual.
Anyhow the review starts... NOW!
So the plot in the movie is that Sudeikis is forced by Ed Helms to get some drugs from Mexico and smuggle them back into the United States.
To do this he makes a fake family complete with himself, a stripper, a virgin and a runaway.
In the mix of the family road-trip, other stuff happens and yeah!
We have our movie.
So what was good?
First of all the jokes in this movie are funny.
I will not embarrassed to admit that I did laugh out loud multiple times.
Also I loved the characters.
I thought that they were each very unique and funny in their own way.
All of them a little bit weird but in the end they all have pretty good chemistry with each other.
Also something that really surprised me in the movie was Nick Offerman's family.
In the trailer, they seemed like the worst part of the whole movie.
In the real movie they were one of the funniest and best parts.
Especially Offerman himself.
But to tell you the truth the whole movie is just a bunch of jokes.
So there's pretty much nothing else that I can say besides the movie was funny.
If the movie was funny and it got money I think that it succeeded its goal.
Sure the movie has flaws which I will mention next, but the only good thing that I can truly say about it is that it was funny.
The performances were also great but in the end all of the things I say will lead up to the movie being funny.
Jennifer Aniston did a really good job as her stripper part.
She was great and most of all FUNNY.
See what I'm getting at here.
So what wasn't good.
The movie was funny so it succeeded.
But also in moments when it wasn't funny it was just too ridiculous or too stupid or too annoying.
A lot of things were put into the movie just to make it longer and funnier.
Some succeeded, and some did not.
For example there's a boyfriend of some kind at the end of the movie.
I thought he did his role well and that he was funny.
He succeeded.
But then there's this Mexican drug lord named Pablo.
His role was never that funny.
He did not succeed which in result made the movie worse.
There are many other examples like the dirty cop and this fake baby named LeBron.
Some worked some didn't.
In the end the movie was funny but it had many unnecessary moments and things that most of the time didn't result well.
The movie was ok.
This is the End is still the funniest movie of the year.
You don't need to see this film.

Movie Review: Elysium

Neill Blomkamp returns back to the big screen for the second time to bring you the highly anticipated Elysium.
I MISSED YOU NEILL!!!!!!!!
DO MORE MOVIES!!!!
YOU'RE GOOD AT IT!!!!!

Rating: R
Time: 109 min
Director: Neill Blomkamp
Stars: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster

So I start walking to the theater to go see Elysium.
I'm going to go see it with about 4 other people.
I'm really excited to see it, they're just bored and want to something instead of lazying around.
At the end of the movie we all come out of the theater.
I ask the four other people, "So how would you rate this movie from 1-10?"
Person 1: It was ok, I'd give it a 6.
Person 2: I'd give it a 7 but I don't think it's deserving the ratings it's getting from critics.
Person 3: I'd also give it a 6, the beginning was boring.
Person 4: I loved it! I'd give it somewhere around an 8.
Me: Thank God! Someone actually agrees with me about this movie! I'd give it a 9ish.
Person 4: Yeah! It was so much better than District 9!
Me: WHAT!
(We got into this argument about which is better.)
Anyhow, in the end the lesson this little story was supposed to teach is that always agree with the people you see movies with or you will fight all the way until you get to home.
And that District 9 is better than Elysium.
So the plot in this movie is that Matt Damon is sick and he needs to go to Elysium to get healed.
So he gets this robotic skeleton and tries to travel to Elysium.
Elysium does not like uninvited visitors.
So what was good in the movie?
First of all the action was amazing!
All of the fighting and weapons and sequences were so awesome to watch.
They made you feel like you were right there in the film.
Also the special effects were amazing.
They all looked so realistic and awesome.
It didn't at all seem like Elysium was just computer generated.
The acting was great too.
Everyone did an amazing job but the person that I loved the most in the movie-
The man who was great in not only this movie but also in District 9 was Sharlto Copley.
He is so good in this movie!
The way he acts and talks just sucks you right into his character and his story.
Matt Damon and Jodie Foster are also both very good in the movie, but they weren't the ones to steal the spotlight.
The end of the movie was also very good.
It was emotionally sad but happy at the same time.
The characters are all also very unique and awesome in their own way.
The story is very exciting and also very unique.
The way the story is executed is done so well and it's just great.
The movies amazing.
To tell you the truth, I am writing this blog post just after seeing We're the Millers and even though I saw We're the Millers not even one day ago, I can't stop thinking about this film.
It sticks with you and it's just so AWESOME.
So what wasn't good?
Not much.
Although one thing I had a problem with was that I think that in some moments of the movie, I think that the characters took the easy way out.
There really wasn't another way to get out of the situation though, which makes me think that they should've changed a little of the script to make the situation a little less... cheap.
Other than that I can't say much.
The only other thing I had a problem with was how the character Frey was interpreted as.
There was something about her that I just wasn't into.
So all in all, the movie was amazing!
Neill Blomkamp should do many more movies in the future.
And even though District 9 was way better, this movie was a close second.
Score= 9.0

Movie Review: The Way Way Back

Me and this movie, we go way back.
Like way-way back.
I have just realized that the title of the movie doesn't mean any of the things I just said.
Awkward...
Not really though.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 103 min
Director(s): Nat Faxon, Jim Rash
Stars: Steve Carell, Toni Collette

Let me tell you how me and this movie go way back.
Even though what I first said wasn't what the title implies I will still tell my story because it is pretty extraordinary.
So let's start when the trailer comes out.
I see the trailer- the movie looks fine.
I go to Spain for the summer thinking that it win't be a big loss if I skip the movie.
For Spain I always bring a lot of movies to keep me occupied there.
One day I just happened to choose Little Miss Sunshine.
AMAZING!!
I see the trailer for The Way Way Back again.
"From the studios that made Little Miss Sunshine..."
OMG, I want to see this movie, it's going to be-
AMAZING!!
My mom calls.
"Hey I just saw The Way Way Back, and it was-"
AMAZING!!
One Month Later
I walk out of the theater just have seeing The Way Way Back.
I think you know what happens next.
It was...
Ok.
JK!!!
It was-
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now let's get to the review!
The plot of the movie was that this kid has to go to his mom's boyfriends summer house for summer.
The boyfriend (Carell) is a total D***bag by the way and the kid doesn't really fit in the neighborhood.
So the only place he feels good in is WATER WIZZ!!!!
So what was good?
First of all I really liked the characters.
They were all just so fun and unique in they're own way and awesome.
Also I really liked the story.
I thought it was just a fantastic timeline that was fun and sad and AMAZING at every corner.
And this movie has the perfect combination of drama and comedy.
Each one was never used to much or too little.
They fit together perfectly.
And the acting was really great too.
I felt like everyone was really giving a great performance.
So what wasn't good?
The only thing that I have to say I didn't like was that some characters I felt were underused.
I felt like they could have had a bigger impact on the movie but they just- you know- didn't.
Other than that the only thing I was kind of annoyed with was that at the end of the movie I wanted to know what was next.
It left me satisfied but I wanted more.
But never mind that because if it were longer it would be worse.
It's complicated.
Never mind it.
ANYHOW, all in all the movie was a perfect combination of drama and comedy.
It's enjoyable for everyone and once you see it you'll be glad you did.
SEE IT!

Movie Review: The Wolverine

After one entire month in a country, with movies that came out months ago in America I am back.
And once I sat butt into that theater I felt...
ALIVE AGAIN.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 126 min
Director: James Mangold
Stars: Hugh Jackman, Tao Okamoto

I am terrible.
I had been in NY for about a week and had not seen a movie.
I bet I wasn't even going to see this one, but it was the last showing in the theater near me so two other people were convinced and saw the movie with me.
To tell you the truth though, if I had other choices of movies to watch I wouldn't have chosen this one.
But my theater only has one movie at a time so I don't really have a choice unless I drove far away to go to a theater with more choices.
But I still wanted to see this movie and I still wanted to see a movie in general.
By the way, when movies that came out in July that I missed come out on DVD, I will rent them and I will review them.
Because I like movies and I like to review them.
So enough with the boring stuff that I always talk about in the beginning of reviews and let's just get right to it!
I'm a little rusty but let's get right to it!
So the plot in this movie is that many years ago the Wolverine saved some guy and now in the present, that guy wants to take away the Wolverine's immortality and give it to himself because he knows how to do it and he's old and wants to live longer.
Stuff happens and also there's this thing going on with the old mans grand daughter and Wolverine has to save himself and other people and WAZAM!
We have our typical superhero movie that's based in Japan.
So what was good in this movie?
First of all this is like the millionth movie that Hugh Jackman plays the Wolverine in so of course he's got the character down and obviously kills it.
He's also just a good actor in general.
But not just him I think that all the people in the movie pretty much did they're role really well.
My favorite character was the red headed chick.
She was so AWESOME!
Whenever she was on screen it was just a joy to watch her.
And of course the action was great.
All of that kung fu movements were really awesome.
The jokes were fine.
They made you chuckle but they were clever too.
Also the end of the movie was great.
I don't mean the end of the movie really, what I mean is that there's this clip after the credits and it's pretty awesome.
The movie was also very cool with the setting.
I liked the places they went and especially the colors and moods of the scene they were in.
So yeah...
So what wasn't good.
Personally even though the acting was good, I did not like most of the characters.
The villains were terrible and not fun to watch.
The Viper Lady was so cartoony and I hated her throughout the whole movie.
I wasn't that into her character.
I also hated this archer guy in the movie.
The way his path lead in the movie was also very upsetting because he could have been such a cool character but just wasn't.
And the end of the movie I thought was really bad too.
The final fight scene was just so bad and a terrible conclusion to the movie.
It was executed badly and even the twist was executed badly.
Without a good intro to the twist the twist will be weak.
If I had to explain the twist without spoiling anything, it would go like this; Wolverine: "HELP!" Villain: "Oh by the way, this thing is actually that thing."
You see how it just doesn't fit in?
Anyhow, all in all the movie was super entertaining but had some flaws with characters and execution.
Think of the movie like this; X-Men Orgins: Wolverine + Good Bruce Lee Movie Without Bruce Lee= An OK film.

Movie Review: Despicable Me 2

One day a boy was strolling through a place of some kind and he stumbles upon a movie theater.
He checks to see what movies hey have out of curiosity.
When he does he sees that there’s a movie called Despicable Me 2 out.
He nods his head and walks away.
Of course he buys a ticket though because next to the movie it said Original Version.

Rating:  PG
Time: 98 min
Director: Pierre Coffin
Stars: Steve Carrel, Kristen Wiig

In Spain, they do not call Despicable Me, Despicable Me.
I don’t know why but instead they call it a different name that I will now translate into English.
In Spain, Despicable Me is called Gru 2: My Favorite Villain.
So they put the main characters name and also they put my favorite villain.
He’s not even a villain in this movie!!!
In the trailer it obviously shows that he is now working for this top-secret anti-villain league.
Well I can’t really blame them for it though they named the movie when the first one came out when he actually was villain.
But to move on to other stuff I have been looking at other people’s opinions on this film and some say that they like the first one better, and surprisingly some say that they like this one better.
It’s only surprising because most of the time, the original movie is better than the sequel.
I can’t think of any exceptions at the top of my head besides that I liked New Moon better than Twilight even though in the end, they both sucked.
But anyways, let’s get on to the review!
So Gru has stopped being a villain and has turned into the really boring normal person. (He still has his minions though!)
And so an anti-villain league hires him and Kristen Wiig together to find a bad guy and take him/her to JUSTICE!
So what was good in the movie?
Like in the first one, the best things about the entire film are the minions.
In the first one they were so funny and now that the producers see that they put a lot more effort into them.
And it works!
In every single scene that the minions are in they crack you up!
They are so funny and stupid and so unique!
The humor was good I guess.
For kids mostly, but I think that a couple of jokes applied to adults.
The art is getting better and better in every animation film.
I really liked the different character personalities in the film.
They were all great to watch and none made me want to strangle them.
But yeah that’s pretty much it.
So what was bad?
I thought that the kids in the movie were way underused.
In the first movie the kids were the movie.
They made the plot thicker and the humor funnier.
In this movie, they barely do anything!
If they were just removed from the film entirely, to me it wouldn’t have made the slightest difference.
Also I thought that solution to problem at the ending was bad and dull.
It was sort of like… “OH NO THERE’S SOMETHING BAD GOING ON!!! BUT DON’T WORRY! LUCKILY ENOUGH BEFORE ANY OF THIS HAPPENED I CREATED THE SOLUTION! YEAH!!!!!!”
That’s pretty much exactly how it goes.
But not just that though!
I also felt that of the big moments of the movie were done poorly but if I said which I would spoil it, so I won’t.
But all in all, the movie is really fun and if you have little kids than you should definitely bring them to this.

Movie Review: Fast & Furious 6

So as you know, I am in Spain.
And in Spain, movies that are old for us are new in Spain.
So looking at the movies they had, I found a movie that came out a while back for us but that I had not seen yet.
So here we are, let's review Fast & Furious 6.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 130 min
Director: Justin Lin
Stars: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker

Before we start the review let me just mention that because I saw this movie is Spain I also saw it in Spanish.
What that means is NO English!
But that to me doesn't really matter because the whole movie is nothing but action with a few moments of dialogue.
And also because I know enough Spanish I can review this as best as I can and hopefully that will be good enough.
But I think it will be enough because once again the movie is basically just a whole lot of action.
OH!
And let me just say that in the states, this movie is rated PG-13.
But here in Spain they have a entirely different rating for the movie!
They also have a different rating system but once I tell you what they rated it I bet that you'll understand the difference.
So in the states it's PG-13, but in Spain it's 18.
Translating 18 into an American rating, there this movie is rated R.
R!
SERIOUSLY!
This movie is a straight up PG-13 and nothing else!
But anyways let's get to the review of Fast & Furious 6...
SPANISH VERSION!
Well not exactly because I'm not actually reviewing it in Spanish, but I did see it in Spanish, so the result of my term is-
ANYHOW...
The plot of this movie is that the whole crew is back again to help "The Rock" take down this new and super bad crew!
But they're millionaires, why would they want to do this?
Because Vin Diesel's once dead girlfriend returns back from the dead!
It is surprising that they have this many movies for one franchise.
You can't compare it to Harry Potter though because at least Harry Potter knew how many movies it was going to make before it started making all of them.
This franchise is just going to keep on going until people get bored and stop paying to see it.
So what was good in the movie?
Before I talk about that, let me just mention also that I have not seen the 2nd, 3rd or 4th even though I know what happens.
All I have seen is the 1st, 5th and now the 6th and let me just say the new ones are so much better than the first one!!
That is actually a first for me.
Anyhow, getting into the review, let me mention that this movie is all about the cars and the action.
So if they don't have that, than they don't have anything.
Luckily for them, they do have it!
The movies action is big, loud, explosive and just so much fun!
The special effects are amazing and the action scenes are just so entertaining to watch!
And now I must admit that this movie is one of those rare movies out there that I can't really rate seriously because it's a movie that's made for you to have fun.
I can't say anything about the dialogue, (mostly because I saw the movie in Spanish) but only because this movie was made for you to have fun.
Nothing having to do with the fact that I am in Spain.
And even though the action was unbelievably stupid (but also entertaining) I can't really say that was a bad thing.
Even though it was stupid and could never be pulled off in real life without a country blowing up with it, it was still entertaining so I can not say that as a bad thing.
Actually now that I think about it, there is one bad thing I can say about the movie.
My friend back in my hometown had spoiled a lot of the twists for me. (I HATE YOU!!!!!!)
I am not mad at him for that though.
But anyways, the one twist he did not spoil for me, I unfortunately saw coming.
So the whole movie was totally predictable.
But probably not for you, just for me.
So all in all, this review has been a mixed confusing one so to wrap it all up I'll just say that got to this movie if you want to have a really fun time and not think about anything!
Score=7.0

Movie Review: The Bling Ring

I want to travel the neighborhood and go into houses that were left open by their owners and rob.
That's what the kids in this movie were thinking.
I will never be like the kids in this movie.
They are so stupid.

Rating: R
Time: 90 min
Director: Sofia Coppola
Stars: Emma Watson, Katie Chang

So Emma Watson goes bad!
After playing her usual polite, sweet and very nice character in past movies like the Harry Potters and Perks of Being a Wallflower, she comes once again back to the big screen with Sofia Coppola to make the Bling Ring.
AND SHE TURNS BAD!
Personally I like the idea now that she's playing a bad character because not only does it give the audience a diversity from her usual, but also shows producers that she can be this character that's not good which means she'll get more acting jobs which means she'll be in more movies.
And for me that's great because I really like Emma Watson.
Can you believe it's only been 12 years since her first appearance as Hermione Granger.
They grow up so fast...
But Emma Watson is not the only one that is in this movie!
The Bling Ring is also Katie Chang's first movie appearance!
Katie Chang is if the main character one of the main characters in this movie.
It was her first performance on the big screen and we'll talk a little more about it later.
Now let me be honest with you.
I've been wanting to see this movie forever since the day the first teaser came out.
I loved the idea of the story and I loved the idea of seeing Emma Watson as a new character.
People also told me that Sofia Coppola is very good so I also wanted to see how she was going to retell the true story of this happening.
So when I went to go see it I was really pumped up and excited.
So the plot in the film is that there's this group of teenagers that sneak into celebrities homes when they're not there and they rob the place.
So what was good in the movie?
First of all, as I said before, I thought that the plot was really good.
It was really unique and I was really interested into it.
Even more because it was a true story.
I thought that the performances were done well.
Emma Watson did well as her spoiled bad character.
Katie Chang did a great job for her first movie.
The boy in the movie I thought did really well.
Personally his character was for me the most satisfying and enjoyable to watch.
I also liked that the movie isn't afraid of itself, the real victims and the real kids who did it.
It goes all the way with drugs and crimes and I thought that that must be hard to do because the people you're acting as are real and they might find it offensive.
So what wasn't good?
First of all in moments of the movie, it keeps on going and going and going.
Some scenes are dragged on for way too long and they just won't stop.
It's sort of like Family Guy just without the humor.
I also felt that some scenes were unnecessary to the movie.
If taken out it would only make the movie better.
Also I felt like all the scenes in the movie were repeats of the last one.
The whole movie goes party, rob, party, rob, party, rob ect. forever.
So looking back at all of these things it seems to me that Sofia Coppola who was also the writer of the movie just kept on adding scenes for no reason and also the same scenes only to make the movie longer so it could actually be in theaters.
If all of the repeats and the super long unnecessary scenes were taken out of the movie it wouldn't be long enough to actually be allowed in theaters.
I felt like if Sofia Coppola just made this a short TV movie than it would have been perfect!
But instead she wanted it to take place in the theaters so she added all this stuff and WALA, it's showing in theaters near you!
And the movie's not even that long too!
It's only 90 min so if it were a TV movie it would also be a pretty short TV movie.
So all in all, the plot was really interesting with good performances but a lot of it was unnecessary and if you skip this movie all you're doing is saving yourself some cash.

Movie Review: World War Z

BRAD PITT IS BACK TO MAKE THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ZOMBIE MOVIE!!
IT'S ACTUALLY NOT THAT ANTICIPATED SO I DON'T KNOW WHY I SAID THAT!
AND EVEN MORE, I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M USING CAPS!
I'M GOING TO REVIEW NOW!
OK, BYE!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 116 min
Director: Marc Forster
Stars: Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos

So before we start let me just mention that Brad Pitt has been wanting to make this movie for ages.
I don't know why because to me it just seems like a plain old zombie flick with Brad Pitt.
Still there's that little unique thing it has in the end.
But other than that it's just a zombie flick.
And also let me mention that I didn't want to see this movie.
I wanted to see MU and Bling Ring more.
I only saw this movie because my friends wanted to go so I went with them.
But before that i was totally not interested.
To me before I went into the theater all I thought the movie would be was a mediocre plain old zombie flick with Brad Pitt and that's it.
Well I was wrong about the mediocre part at least.
So what was the plot?
THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS HAPPENING AND WHO'S THERE TO HELP SAVE THE WORLD?
THE ONE AND ONLY BRAD PITT!!!!!!!
Amazing...
So what was good?
Let me put the big thing out there first.
THIS MOVIE IS SO MUCH FUN!!
Man all throughout this movie there's zombies and action nonstop and it is so much fun.
It gets you pumped and you're excited and you're loving it!
I know I was.
Also I think that the acting was pretty good.
Nothing amazing and Oscar-worthy but it was good.
The action was also very good I thought.
And this movies intensity and horrorish level is at a perfect one.
I mean it's really intense when zombies are jumping and biting and killing everyone, but also it's really good when Brad Pitt is just walking silently down a hallway being quiet, and there are a million zombies everywhere around him.
A scene I really liked is in an apartment building where the family is just trying to get up to the roof.
And I really liked the ending of this movie.
A great song is booming and Brad Pitt is just doing something that is so LEGENDARY!
So what wasn't good?
I thought that the zombies in this movie weren't done very well.
To me they seemed like just glitches.
They were doing weird movements that I thought if they didn't would make the movie better.
And also even though this movie is one of the most fun movies I've seen all year and also really good, it's still very similar to other zombie movies.
I don't think that there was anything unique about this movie besides its ending.
But that's just my opinion.
So all in all, this movie is a great movie that if you see needs to be in a theater and even better in IMAX.

Movie Review: Monsters University

Monsters Inc. was one of my favorite childhood Pixar movies ever.
So when I heard that they were coming out with the prequel to it I was like OMG!
I had to see this movie.
And so I saw it.
And so I am reviewing it.

Rating: G
Time: 104 min
Director: Dan Scanlon
Stars: John Goodman, Billy Crystal

So all the amazing voice-over stars come back to the big screen once again to make the prequel to the older famous animation film.
MONSTERS INC.  IS BACK!!!!
And I couldn't wait to see it again.
Also by the way, the time for me that I am writing this, is about a couple of hours away until I have to board a plane to go to Spain like I always do.
And in Spain I have no internet connection.
That means that I will not be able to do any posts besides maybe one or two.
And right now I am in big trouble because as I said before I only have a couple of hours (3 hours) and in those hours I have to write this review plus one about World War Z and one about The Bling Ring.
So hopefully I'll do it, but if I don't have the time to, I'll finish it in Spain.
But enough about my personal life and more about reviewing Monsters University.
So the plot in this movie is that Mike and Sully are at college and it's pretty much the sane plot as The Internship.
The college splits up into different teams and they have to battle each other at different competitions and if Mike's team loses than they get expelled form Monsters University.
It's pretty much the same exact plot.
So what was great about the movie?
First of all, the animation in here is AMAZING!
With all these different colors and different monsters it does a really good job at showing it off.
Also I would say that the characters are really great.
They're all unique and that's what's so great about them.
They all have these different and awesome personalities that makes them each so fun to watch.
There wasn't one person where when they were on screen made get bored with the movie.
Also the challenges that the teams had to do was pretty cool.
I thought it was really creative and awesome how they made each one, especially the second one with the librarian.
Also I think that the references they made back to the original Monsters Inc. were cool.
And let me just say that if this movie was exactly like how it was for the last half and hour everyone would love it.
The last half and hour of this movie is the films shining moment.
It was probably the best part of the whole movie no doubt whatsoever.
So what wasn't good?
First of all this movie tries to have some humor in it.
And also like in old Pixar movies, they have humor that is actually funny to even adults.
This movie had humor but it wasn't good.
It didn't make me laugh or chuckle.
I think that the only people in the audience who laughed were the really young kids or that couple who sat across from me in the isle and were only there to laugh at the childish and stupidity of the movie.
I hate those types of people.
Also what I thought was bad was that some times the movie got way too silly for me.
The silliness in this movie sometimes disconnected me from the story and the plot.
So all in all, this movie is great for the kids and not so much for the adults.

Movie Review: The Internship

Personally I prefer Bing.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 119 min
Director: Shawn Levy
Stars: Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson

Actually I have just changed my mind and I now have decided that Google is actually better than Bing.
Why you might ask?
Because Bing is just a copy of Google.
Why would you come out with a new search web system if the best one has already been made?
Also what's the deal with the Bing challenge?
I know that it's already over but that was just a dumb thing for them to do.
The only thing it proved was that they were and still are jealous of Google.
And that just made people like me use Google way more!
And let me just tell you that I don't see a movie contract for them anytime soon.
And especially after this movie came out!
Sorry fans of Bing, but your search web sucks.
And it's never going to get better unless Google screws up or something.
But a lot of people are disliking this movie, some of it because it just gains more publicity for Google.
So I know that Google had to sign off on the movie for it to be made, but they didn't make the story!
Vince Vaughn did so I don't know why everyone is hating on Google for it.
But those are just my thoughts.
So what's this movie about?
These two old guys need a job.
So they get an internship at Google.
They get split up into teams and the team with the most points from all the challenges they do get a job.
So what was good?
First of all, the idea of the movie was cool so of course the scenery for the movie was cool.
And Google is like the best place to work at some people say and this movie totally supports that.
The movie has a simple old formula so it's not really a movie where you need to think that much at all.
The characters are pretty weird but all in a good way.
I mean I don't think there was a person in this movie that made the movie bad when they were actually on screen.
Actually the one person who made this movie amazing in the one scene he's in was Will Ferrell.
There's a scene with him in it and he steals the show!
So what wasn't good?
This movie follows the same formula as many many other movies.
This makes it predictable which means there's not really a twist or an unexpected turn.
Also I thought this movie would be one of those nice, lightly funny, feel good movies, but there's a huge chunk of this movie that takes place in a strip club where they're all getting drunk.
For me personally, I thought that that moment didn't fit in well the rest of the movie and it was way to long.
Also the humor was not that funny I would say.
I wanted more laughs and bigger ones too.
They had a couple of chuckles but nothing like This is the End.
Oh and you know how I mentioned Will Ferrell earlier on in the post, well another bad thing about this movie was that they totally underused him!
This movie was not that good, but let me just say that if they made a movie all about Will Ferrell's character in the movie, I think it would be as popular as Anchorman possibly.
And I also felt like as everyone else is saying this movie was one big ad for Google.
Other than that I thought that the love story in this movie was boring.
Every time I had to watch it, it made me hate the movie a teensy weensy bit more.
As you can see from my bad sections in all of my posts, I am not a fan of romantic movies.
You know, unless they're good.
This one was not.
So all in all, this movie had not so many good things and more flaws.
Don't feel bad if you missed it, you're not missing out on anything.

Movie Review: This is the End

Celebrities playing celebrities.
That has been been done before, but only this movie had the gut to make apocalyptic.
But another movie that has a person playing himself really well are the Harold & Kumar movies.
Props to Neil Patrick Harris for in this movie and also in How I Met Your Mother for being the awesome player when he is actually gay.
If your somewhat offended by that, I don't know why because it's true.
Also, if you somewhat find that inappropriate, I don't know why because it's true.

Rating: R
Time: 107 min
Director(s): Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen
Stars: Seth Rogen, James Franco

So this is Seth Rogen's first movie where he has directed it!
Even though there's still Evan Goldberg, everyone is really focused on Seth Rogen.
So did Seth Rogen do a good job making his movie?
All I know is that he made a million awesome and super convincing trailers.
All the trailers for this film were so good and made the movie look so good!
I have seen them each a million times over loving them more and more.
So while walking into the theater, I was pretty pumped.
And let me tell you the truth that if the actors weren't playing themselves, than I would be much less interested.
I thought that the plot of the movie was so interesting and so unique that it made anyone who had a brain want to see the movie.
You know, unless you hate those Seth Rogen, James Franco movies like Pineapple Express.
But even if you did hate Pineapple Express, this movie is so much funnier and better than it.
So what was the unique and amazing plot this movie had?
So these actors go to a party at James Franco's house and then the apocalypse starts and 6 actors are stranded in James Franco's house.
This is gonna be AWESOME!!!
So what was good?
IT IS SO FUNNY!
As you should know, this is a comedy featuring humor from some of the best comedians of our generation.
This movie will be funny so don't walk in expecting a heart felt drama.
You're not going to get one.
Also what I thought was that surprisingly the special effects were good.
When the guys actually have to go outside it's pretty cool.
It's somewhat predictable.
But the thing that made this movie AMAZING was the one and only Michael Cera.
He completes the movie and eve though he's not in many scenes, when he is, he steals the show.
He made the movie complete.
If I was the person giving out awards and stuff like that, I'd give the best performance award to him.
He deserves it.
Anyhow, the truth is, is that it's really hard to review this movie seriously because it's just meant to have fun.
I can't say that much about it because it was just meant to make you laugh.
So what wasn't good?
First of all, let me say that this movie's ending was so stupid and bad.
If they cut it out it would actually make the movie better.
It seriously made the whole movie worse.
The performances were surprisingly bad in moments.
There's a moment where they make a trailer for Pineapple Express 2, and I'm not sure if they were supposed to act badly or not.
They acted badly to make it funnier, but in the end it doesn't make sense because the characters are supposed to be real life ACTORS!
AND GOOD ONES!
But it's not just that, there some other moments where the performances were just plain old terrible.
And also in some moments it got just to stupid or childish.
In moments it got so stupid in childish what i was hard for me to watch it.
It was ridiculous!
Anyways all in all, the movie was funny and a good time waster if you want to have fun.
Score=6.5
