Movie Review: The Bling Ring

I want to travel the neighborhood and go into houses that were left open by their owners and rob.
That's what the kids in this movie were thinking.
I will never be like the kids in this movie.
They are so stupid.

Rating: R
Time: 90 min
Director: Sofia Coppola
Stars: Emma Watson, Katie Chang

So Emma Watson goes bad!
After playing her usual polite, sweet and very nice character in past movies like the Harry Potters and Perks of Being a Wallflower, she comes once again back to the big screen with Sofia Coppola to make the Bling Ring.
AND SHE TURNS BAD!
Personally I like the idea now that she's playing a bad character because not only does it give the audience a diversity from her usual, but also shows producers that she can be this character that's not good which means she'll get more acting jobs which means she'll be in more movies.
And for me that's great because I really like Emma Watson.
Can you believe it's only been 12 years since her first appearance as Hermione Granger.
They grow up so fast...
But Emma Watson is not the only one that is in this movie!
The Bling Ring is also Katie Chang's first movie appearance!
Katie Chang is if the main character one of the main characters in this movie.
It was her first performance on the big screen and we'll talk a little more about it later.
Now let me be honest with you.
I've been wanting to see this movie forever since the day the first teaser came out.
I loved the idea of the story and I loved the idea of seeing Emma Watson as a new character.
People also told me that Sofia Coppola is very good so I also wanted to see how she was going to retell the true story of this happening.
So when I went to go see it I was really pumped up and excited.
So the plot in the film is that there's this group of teenagers that sneak into celebrities homes when they're not there and they rob the place.
So what was good in the movie?
First of all, as I said before, I thought that the plot was really good.
It was really unique and I was really interested into it.
Even more because it was a true story.
I thought that the performances were done well.
Emma Watson did well as her spoiled bad character.
Katie Chang did a great job for her first movie.
The boy in the movie I thought did really well.
Personally his character was for me the most satisfying and enjoyable to watch.
I also liked that the movie isn't afraid of itself, the real victims and the real kids who did it.
It goes all the way with drugs and crimes and I thought that that must be hard to do because the people you're acting as are real and they might find it offensive.
So what wasn't good?
First of all in moments of the movie, it keeps on going and going and going.
Some scenes are dragged on for way too long and they just won't stop.
It's sort of like Family Guy just without the humor.
I also felt that some scenes were unnecessary to the movie.
If taken out it would only make the movie better.
Also I felt like all the scenes in the movie were repeats of the last one.
The whole movie goes party, rob, party, rob, party, rob ect. forever.
So looking back at all of these things it seems to me that Sofia Coppola who was also the writer of the movie just kept on adding scenes for no reason and also the same scenes only to make the movie longer so it could actually be in theaters.
If all of the repeats and the super long unnecessary scenes were taken out of the movie it wouldn't be long enough to actually be allowed in theaters.
I felt like if Sofia Coppola just made this a short TV movie than it would have been perfect!
But instead she wanted it to take place in the theaters so she added all this stuff and WALA, it's showing in theaters near you!
And the movie's not even that long too!
It's only 90 min so if it were a TV movie it would also be a pretty short TV movie.
So all in all, the plot was really interesting with good performances but a lot of it was unnecessary and if you skip this movie all you're doing is saving yourself some cash.

Movie Review: World War Z

BRAD PITT IS BACK TO MAKE THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ZOMBIE MOVIE!!
IT'S ACTUALLY NOT THAT ANTICIPATED SO I DON'T KNOW WHY I SAID THAT!
AND EVEN MORE, I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M USING CAPS!
I'M GOING TO REVIEW NOW!
OK, BYE!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 116 min
Director: Marc Forster
Stars: Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos

So before we start let me just mention that Brad Pitt has been wanting to make this movie for ages.
I don't know why because to me it just seems like a plain old zombie flick with Brad Pitt.
Still there's that little unique thing it has in the end.
But other than that it's just a zombie flick.
And also let me mention that I didn't want to see this movie.
I wanted to see MU and Bling Ring more.
I only saw this movie because my friends wanted to go so I went with them.
But before that i was totally not interested.
To me before I went into the theater all I thought the movie would be was a mediocre plain old zombie flick with Brad Pitt and that's it.
Well I was wrong about the mediocre part at least.
So what was the plot?
THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE IS HAPPENING AND WHO'S THERE TO HELP SAVE THE WORLD?
THE ONE AND ONLY BRAD PITT!!!!!!!
Amazing...
So what was good?
Let me put the big thing out there first.
THIS MOVIE IS SO MUCH FUN!!
Man all throughout this movie there's zombies and action nonstop and it is so much fun.
It gets you pumped and you're excited and you're loving it!
I know I was.
Also I think that the acting was pretty good.
Nothing amazing and Oscar-worthy but it was good.
The action was also very good I thought.
And this movies intensity and horrorish level is at a perfect one.
I mean it's really intense when zombies are jumping and biting and killing everyone, but also it's really good when Brad Pitt is just walking silently down a hallway being quiet, and there are a million zombies everywhere around him.
A scene I really liked is in an apartment building where the family is just trying to get up to the roof.
And I really liked the ending of this movie.
A great song is booming and Brad Pitt is just doing something that is so LEGENDARY!
So what wasn't good?
I thought that the zombies in this movie weren't done very well.
To me they seemed like just glitches.
They were doing weird movements that I thought if they didn't would make the movie better.
And also even though this movie is one of the most fun movies I've seen all year and also really good, it's still very similar to other zombie movies.
I don't think that there was anything unique about this movie besides its ending.
But that's just my opinion.
So all in all, this movie is a great movie that if you see needs to be in a theater and even better in IMAX.

Movie Review: Monsters University

Monsters Inc. was one of my favorite childhood Pixar movies ever.
So when I heard that they were coming out with the prequel to it I was like OMG!
I had to see this movie.
And so I saw it.
And so I am reviewing it.

Rating: G
Time: 104 min
Director: Dan Scanlon
Stars: John Goodman, Billy Crystal

So all the amazing voice-over stars come back to the big screen once again to make the prequel to the older famous animation film.
MONSTERS INC.  IS BACK!!!!
And I couldn't wait to see it again.
Also by the way, the time for me that I am writing this, is about a couple of hours away until I have to board a plane to go to Spain like I always do.
And in Spain I have no internet connection.
That means that I will not be able to do any posts besides maybe one or two.
And right now I am in big trouble because as I said before I only have a couple of hours (3 hours) and in those hours I have to write this review plus one about World War Z and one about The Bling Ring.
So hopefully I'll do it, but if I don't have the time to, I'll finish it in Spain.
But enough about my personal life and more about reviewing Monsters University.
So the plot in this movie is that Mike and Sully are at college and it's pretty much the sane plot as The Internship.
The college splits up into different teams and they have to battle each other at different competitions and if Mike's team loses than they get expelled form Monsters University.
It's pretty much the same exact plot.
So what was great about the movie?
First of all, the animation in here is AMAZING!
With all these different colors and different monsters it does a really good job at showing it off.
Also I would say that the characters are really great.
They're all unique and that's what's so great about them.
They all have these different and awesome personalities that makes them each so fun to watch.
There wasn't one person where when they were on screen made get bored with the movie.
Also the challenges that the teams had to do was pretty cool.
I thought it was really creative and awesome how they made each one, especially the second one with the librarian.
Also I think that the references they made back to the original Monsters Inc. were cool.
And let me just say that if this movie was exactly like how it was for the last half and hour everyone would love it.
The last half and hour of this movie is the films shining moment.
It was probably the best part of the whole movie no doubt whatsoever.
So what wasn't good?
First of all this movie tries to have some humor in it.
And also like in old Pixar movies, they have humor that is actually funny to even adults.
This movie had humor but it wasn't good.
It didn't make me laugh or chuckle.
I think that the only people in the audience who laughed were the really young kids or that couple who sat across from me in the isle and were only there to laugh at the childish and stupidity of the movie.
I hate those types of people.
Also what I thought was bad was that some times the movie got way too silly for me.
The silliness in this movie sometimes disconnected me from the story and the plot.
So all in all, this movie is great for the kids and not so much for the adults.

Movie Review: The Internship

Personally I prefer Bing.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 119 min
Director: Shawn Levy
Stars: Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson

Actually I have just changed my mind and I now have decided that Google is actually better than Bing.
Why you might ask?
Because Bing is just a copy of Google.
Why would you come out with a new search web system if the best one has already been made?
Also what's the deal with the Bing challenge?
I know that it's already over but that was just a dumb thing for them to do.
The only thing it proved was that they were and still are jealous of Google.
And that just made people like me use Google way more!
And let me just tell you that I don't see a movie contract for them anytime soon.
And especially after this movie came out!
Sorry fans of Bing, but your search web sucks.
And it's never going to get better unless Google screws up or something.
But a lot of people are disliking this movie, some of it because it just gains more publicity for Google.
So I know that Google had to sign off on the movie for it to be made, but they didn't make the story!
Vince Vaughn did so I don't know why everyone is hating on Google for it.
But those are just my thoughts.
So what's this movie about?
These two old guys need a job.
So they get an internship at Google.
They get split up into teams and the team with the most points from all the challenges they do get a job.
So what was good?
First of all, the idea of the movie was cool so of course the scenery for the movie was cool.
And Google is like the best place to work at some people say and this movie totally supports that.
The movie has a simple old formula so it's not really a movie where you need to think that much at all.
The characters are pretty weird but all in a good way.
I mean I don't think there was a person in this movie that made the movie bad when they were actually on screen.
Actually the one person who made this movie amazing in the one scene he's in was Will Ferrell.
There's a scene with him in it and he steals the show!
So what wasn't good?
This movie follows the same formula as many many other movies.
This makes it predictable which means there's not really a twist or an unexpected turn.
Also I thought this movie would be one of those nice, lightly funny, feel good movies, but there's a huge chunk of this movie that takes place in a strip club where they're all getting drunk.
For me personally, I thought that that moment didn't fit in well the rest of the movie and it was way to long.
Also the humor was not that funny I would say.
I wanted more laughs and bigger ones too.
They had a couple of chuckles but nothing like This is the End.
Oh and you know how I mentioned Will Ferrell earlier on in the post, well another bad thing about this movie was that they totally underused him!
This movie was not that good, but let me just say that if they made a movie all about Will Ferrell's character in the movie, I think it would be as popular as Anchorman possibly.
And I also felt like as everyone else is saying this movie was one big ad for Google.
Other than that I thought that the love story in this movie was boring.
Every time I had to watch it, it made me hate the movie a teensy weensy bit more.
As you can see from my bad sections in all of my posts, I am not a fan of romantic movies.
You know, unless they're good.
This one was not.
So all in all, this movie had not so many good things and more flaws.
Don't feel bad if you missed it, you're not missing out on anything.

Movie Review: This is the End

Celebrities playing celebrities.
That has been been done before, but only this movie had the gut to make apocalyptic.
But another movie that has a person playing himself really well are the Harold & Kumar movies.
Props to Neil Patrick Harris for in this movie and also in How I Met Your Mother for being the awesome player when he is actually gay.
If your somewhat offended by that, I don't know why because it's true.
Also, if you somewhat find that inappropriate, I don't know why because it's true.

Rating: R
Time: 107 min
Director(s): Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen
Stars: Seth Rogen, James Franco

So this is Seth Rogen's first movie where he has directed it!
Even though there's still Evan Goldberg, everyone is really focused on Seth Rogen.
So did Seth Rogen do a good job making his movie?
All I know is that he made a million awesome and super convincing trailers.
All the trailers for this film were so good and made the movie look so good!
I have seen them each a million times over loving them more and more.
So while walking into the theater, I was pretty pumped.
And let me tell you the truth that if the actors weren't playing themselves, than I would be much less interested.
I thought that the plot of the movie was so interesting and so unique that it made anyone who had a brain want to see the movie.
You know, unless you hate those Seth Rogen, James Franco movies like Pineapple Express.
But even if you did hate Pineapple Express, this movie is so much funnier and better than it.
So what was the unique and amazing plot this movie had?
So these actors go to a party at James Franco's house and then the apocalypse starts and 6 actors are stranded in James Franco's house.
This is gonna be AWESOME!!!
So what was good?
IT IS SO FUNNY!
As you should know, this is a comedy featuring humor from some of the best comedians of our generation.
This movie will be funny so don't walk in expecting a heart felt drama.
You're not going to get one.
Also what I thought was that surprisingly the special effects were good.
When the guys actually have to go outside it's pretty cool.
It's somewhat predictable.
But the thing that made this movie AMAZING was the one and only Michael Cera.
He completes the movie and eve though he's not in many scenes, when he is, he steals the show.
He made the movie complete.
If I was the person giving out awards and stuff like that, I'd give the best performance award to him.
He deserves it.
Anyhow, the truth is, is that it's really hard to review this movie seriously because it's just meant to have fun.
I can't say that much about it because it was just meant to make you laugh.
So what wasn't good?
First of all, let me say that this movie's ending was so stupid and bad.
If they cut it out it would actually make the movie better.
It seriously made the whole movie worse.
The performances were surprisingly bad in moments.
There's a moment where they make a trailer for Pineapple Express 2, and I'm not sure if they were supposed to act badly or not.
They acted badly to make it funnier, but in the end it doesn't make sense because the characters are supposed to be real life ACTORS!
AND GOOD ONES!
But it's not just that, there some other moments where the performances were just plain old terrible.
And also in some moments it got just to stupid or childish.
In moments it got so stupid in childish what i was hard for me to watch it.
It was ridiculous!
Anyways all in all, the movie was funny and a good time waster if you want to have fun.

Movie Review: Man of Steel

I
AM
SU-PER-MAN!
Buddah, buddah, bu, bu, bu, BU, bu...
Wait, wait, wait!
That's not right.

Rating: PG-13
Time: 143 min
Director: Zack Snyder
Stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams

To tell you the truth I haven't even heard the Super Man song.
At least I'm not totally clueless.
I know Iron Man, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and maybe others.
But that doesn't really matter now.
So before I get into the review, I came into this movie knowing a couple of things.
First of all, I knew that Zack Snyder was the director.
I also knew/know that Zack Snyder has a funny way of doing things.
When I saw 300 I enjoyed it but thought it was a little silly and cartoony.
But then I saw Watchmen.
I loved Watchmen.
So walking into the theater I was so excited for the movie.
And you don't even know how excited I am for the sequel to 300, even though Zack Snyder isn't directing it.
And also Christopher Nolan was producing it.
Almost everyone loves Christopher Nolan besides people with bad taste.
How could you not?
He directed the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and others.
So what was the plot in the movie?
SUPERMAN COMES TO THE RESCUE TO FIGHT THE EVIL GENERAL ZOD!!!!
It's not exactly like that, but the general point is Super Man vs Zod.
So what was good?
First of all, I loved Michael Shannon.
I thought that he did an amazing job as Zod and was really bringing it to the screen.
One moment I really liked of his was actually in the trailer when he says, "I WILL FIND HIM!!!"
SOOOO BOSS!!!
Anyhow, other than Zod, the action was awesome.
There are so many cool action scenes!
Superman's flying through the air blowing Zod through a million buildings!
It's really awesome.
I also seemed to like the structure of the movie.
In the trailer you see so many moments of Super Man young, and the truth is, that doesn't even happen in the movie!
It's only in flash backs!
And the CGI was also very well done.
A lot of action and KABOOM'S everywhere that looked very realistic.
The ending was also good.
What I mean is not the dramatic feel good ending, but the ending to all the action sequences.
And a funny perk that was in the movie was that some things like for example barrels had the Lex Corp symbol on it.
So we're looking into a sequel, possibly with Lex Luthor.
So what wasn't good?
First of all, I thought that some moments were just proposed badly to me.
Every time, right before Super Man is about to take flight, he puts on this face that make him look so stupid.
I also thought that the character of Superman was just too... fake.
My evidence for that is, he's never flown before.
He tries once and fails.
The second time he's circling the world.
I felt like I needed to see him evolve more than once trying to fly.
Also when he figures out more about his planet and real family and stuff like that, I thought it was kind of dull.
Like he was getting all this really personal knowledge and all he did was "Ok, I am now Super Man."
Once again I felt like his character needed to evolve some more.
SPOILER ALERT
And after doing no fighting in his life he can take down this one guy with the same powers as him, who is also like head of the military for Krypton or something!
END OF SPOILER
Now that's just fake.
So all in all, the movie was good even though I wanted more from the movie and Super Man in general.

Movie Review: Now You See Me

Once upon a time there was a movie called The Amazing Burt Wonderstone.
Everyone hated it, or didn't like it as much.
But I really liked it!
I loved it because it was a magic movie.
And I love magic movies.
Oh hold on, what's this?
A movie called Now You See Me!
And it's about magic!
Well I'm off to the theaters to see how this one does!

Rating: PG-13
Time: 115 min
Director: Louis Leterrier
Stars: Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo

I'M BACK!
And by the way, even I've got to admit that was one weird intro I just did.
So anyways before we get into the review and talking a little about it before, can I just say that I have just hit my 15,000th viewer today.
I hope to hit a least 16,000 by the end of the year.
But anyways now let's talk about the movie.
First of all, this movie has so many other famous actors other than Eisenberg and Ruffalo.
It also has Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, a new french actress who was also in Inglorious Basterds and not many others.
So with so many great actors, a plot with MAGIC and much more you would expect a good movie right?
Well the only thing that could possibly go wrong is if they ruin the magic and make all the characters uninteresting.
So did they?
Did director Louis Leterrier do that to this movie?
Maybe, you'll just have to read and find out.
Also before the review let me mention that this movie is its first and right when the trailer came out, I was in love.
I was hoping to see this movie for such a long time and finally I am satisfied!
But only because I saw it.
Anyhow, let's get to the review.
So the plot is that there are these magicians that rob a bank in one of their shows.
Right after that a lot more happens and it gets complicated and BOOM!
We have our movie!
So what was actually good.
First of all the characters were good.
They were unique and awesome in their own way.
Like Woody Harrelson who supposedly is a hypnotist.
Also what was good were the special effects.
In the last magic scene there were so many effects that made the movie look really good.
I also liked the magic tricks they did.
In the beginning of the movie they show a clip of each magician doing a little bit of magic and I've just got to admit that Isla Fishers one was pretty awesome.
The action was better than expected.
There's a really cool scene between Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo.
Another thing that I liked about the movie that some others did or didn't was I liked the ending.
The twist at the ending I thought was dumb until they explained it.
When they did explain it, I thought it was smart and I liked it.
So what wasn't good?
First of all, in the mix of all this awesomeness there's a stupid love story going on.
Mark Ruffalo and the french girl have a thing and no one came to see it.
We came to see magic and awesomeness, so whenever they're on screen together it's my moment to go to the bathroom.
Also, before I said that only two things could ruin the movie; bad characters and ruining of magic.
The characters were fine, but the magic... not so much.
What I love about magic is the mystery of how the magicians did it.
In this movie they tell you how they do the trick and personally for me that ruined it.
It made the magic worse.
And for one in my life time I hated Morgan Freeman.
He was such bragger and mean guy, trying to spoil the magic and always claiming he was one step ahead of everyone.
Whenever he was on screen I hated the movie.
Others won't say that but it was bugging me so I did.
Anyhow, the movie was a good time with only some flaws.
All in all, you need to see this movie, but if you're bored you should.
Score=5.5

Movie Review: Epic

I am ashamed of myself.
I saw this movie May 25th and writing this review now.
I'm not EPIC.
But that doesn't matter.
What matters is EPIC!!
SO WAS IT EPIC?
IT SURE HAD THE GUTS TO CALL ITSELF THAT!
LETS SEE IF IT LIVED UP TO ITS NAME!!
NEXT ON...

Rating: PG
Time: 102 min
Director: Chris Wedge
Stars: Colin Farrell, Josh Hutcherson

Why was this movie named Epic?
I don't know why it called itself Epic.
You have to be a really good movie to call yourself Epic.
If I could've called a movie Epic, it would be like Attack the Block or The Dark Knight, ect.
But this movie believed in itself and decided to go with the name Epic.
It must've been too proud of itself because if I named it, it would be called Regular.
But of course it went with the name Epic.
I have nothing else to mention.
I always try to make the beginning part of my reviews long so that my review in general is long, but I really have nothing else to say.
SO LET'S GET TO THE REVIEW!!
The plot is pretty straight forward in the movie, you have the evil bad guy who wants to destroy the forest and then this normal girl turns small and has to stop him.
It's really that simple.
Now before I get into what was good, I have to say this movie was pretty normal.
It was a basic tale so instead of what was good, I'm gonna do what was normal.
So what was normal?
You have that same tale where the chosen one has to stop the evil villain.
You have all these amazing celebrities in the movie which was good.
And there were some funny chuckles in there.
The character I liked most was Aziz Ansari.
He was the fat funny slug in the movie.
I didn't know he was going to be the slug until I saw the movie, so when I saw the trailer, I thought he was a girl.
I don't know why, but his only line in the trailer is "HEY BABY GIRL" and it sounded like a woman was saying it.
The other characters were normal.
The princess, the general, the bad guy, the rebel, the crack ups, the girl who just wants to go home and her psychopath father.
All pretty normal.
So what wasn't good in the movie?
First of all this movie was SO PREDICTABLE!
Since the movie had a very old formula it was so obvious what was going to happen.
I also thought that at some moments it got to silly for it to be true.
And I know that the movie was supposed to be for kids, but sometimes it just crossed the line.
Also I felt like that some parts of the movie didn't really matter at all.
Actually I didn't eve know what the point was of Pitbull int the movie.
I felt like the movie could have done the things that he did in the movie in a different way.
So all in all, the movie had a really old formula that was super predictable.
It was fun sometimes but it wasn't anything new or worth seeing.
Score=4.5
